Steve Bannon called the 2016 Trump Tower meeting 'treasonous'

As per the new book obtained by Guardian, the former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon has called the 2016 Trump Tower meeting between Trump campaign officials and a Russian lawyer Natalia  Veselnitskaya during the election campaign as ‘treasonous’ as well as ‘unpatriotic’.

While speaking to the author Michael Wolff, Bannon has warned the Robert Muller’s investigation into the alleged collusion with the Kremlin will be focusing on money laundering and has predicted, “They’re going to crack Donald Junior like an egg on national TV.” The book, ‘Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House’ is based on hundreds of interviews which include ones with President Trump and his inner circle.

As per the Guardian, Bannon has marked the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting between Donald Trump Jr., Paul Manafort (then-campaign chairman), Jared Kushner as well as Russian operatives which was arranged when Trump Jr. agreed to meet ‘Russian government attorney’ after he has received an email offering him ‘very high level and sensitive information’ which will ‘incriminate’ Hilary Clinton to which Trump Jr. has replied: “I love it.” Bannon has told Michael, “You realize where this is going.”

He said, “This is all about money laundering. Mueller chose (senior prosecutor Andrew) Weissmann first and he is a money-laundering guy.” He said that their path to Trump goes right through Paul Manafort, Donald Jr. and Jared Kushner— it’s as plain as a hair on the face. Federal prosecutors subpoenaed Deutsche Bank in December, for the records tied to Kushner’s family’s real estate business, Kushner Companies, Bannon said of the probe that it goes through Deutsche Bank and all the Kushner shit.

Referring to Trump Jr. and Kushner, Bannon was reported by Guardian as saying, “They’re going to go right through that. They’re going to roll those two guys up and say play me or trade me.”  Michael Wolff’s book is set to be released in the next week.
