Though Selena Gomez has fully recovered from her kidney transplant last year, her pal has revealed that she has potentially fatal health scare after her surgery.

Selena’s best friend, Francia Raisa has said that both the 25-year-old pop star as well as she had a hard time recovering after she has helped Selena in her difficult time. In an interview with W Magazine, Francia has said, “Recovery was hard.”

She admitted, “I didn’t want to eat, I didn’t want to drink anything. Selena did have a complication, too.” She has revealed that a few hours after their surgery, she woke up and had a text from Selena that said, ‘I’m really scared.’

One of the new stars of “Grown-ish” has said, “My kidney was very active, and when she turned, she broke an artery. They had to take her into emergency surgery and get a vein from her leg and build a new artery to keep my kidney in place,” adding that “She could have died.” During in an interview with TODAY’s Savannah Guthrie, the two have opened about the kidney transplant and lupus complications that Selena was suffering from in October. Selena has said that her kidneys were just done.

The “Wolves” singer shared, “That was it, and I didn’t want to ask a single person in my life. The thought of asking someone to do that was really difficult for me. She volunteered and did it. And let alone someone wanting to volunteer, it is incredibly difficult to find a match.” She has talked about the difficulties and recalled that doctors have told her she would need another surgery as the new kidney was turning around inside her body. Selena has explained that her teeth were like grinding, she was freaking out. The singer has said, “It was a six-hour surgery that they had to do on me, and the normal kidney process is actually two hours.”
