A family of five!
On Saturday, Samantha Ponder welcomed her third child, a baby girl with her husband Christian Ponder announced via Instagram. The 32-year-old ESPN “Sunday NFL Countdown” host has shared the picture of the 30-year-old former NFL star holding in his left arm atop a pillow and captioned, “So thankful. 🎀.” The couple is already parents to 1-year-old son Robinson True and 4-year-old daughter Bowden “Scout” Sainte-Claire. On 8th June, Samantha has captioned the series of picture of her son: “So grateful for one full year with the smiliest, most joyful human I’ve ever known.”
She wrote: “Robinson True, you are as unique and strong-willed as your namesakes and the verse I couldn’t forget while I carried you perfectly describes what you elicit in me.” The mama of three wrote, “A day that summed her up pretty well: 5 outfit changes, tennis camp domination, tons of laughs, a few fights, all the Mexican food, a unicorn cake and family movie night on a ‘magical bed’ (aka air mattress),” next to a picture of Bowden on her 2nd July birthday.
Samantha and the San Francisco 49ers quarterback tied the knot on 17th December 2012 in Hudson, Wisconsin. After their daughter’s arrival, the couple has decided to call their baby girl “Scout”— after the young protagonist in “To Kill a Mockingbird.” In March 2017, the new mama was at the centre of controversy during her pregnancy with Robinson, clapping back at Twitter trolls who had been throwing hateful comments her way.
On Twitter, she wrote: “Getting sexist/vulgar tweets abt my job/appearance while I’m unable to see my own feet & covered in toddler pee is something else I tell ya.” In 2012, Samantha had replaced Erin Andrews as the face of ESPN’s “College GameDay” and has been the regular sideline reporter for the network’s “Thursday Night College Football.”
