Tennis champion Serena Williams has opened up about motherhood as well as her harrowing experience of giving birth alongside her newborn baby girl Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. as the cover star of the newest cover for the magazine’s February issue.
The 36 year old has discussed about the struggles of new motherhood when the heart of Alexis has started to drop during her delivery, alongside the immense joy she has felt being the mother of Alexis and has shared, “That was an amazing feeling, and then everything went bad.” Alongside the caption, Serena has tweeted the photo on Twitter by writing, “This is a moment I will never forget”. She has told the magazine that they are not spending a day apart until Alexis is eighteen. She has said that now that she is 36 and she looks at her baby, she remembers that this was also one of her goals when she was little, when she was still kind of a normal girl who has played with dolls and she loves her dolls. Vogue’s cover photo was shot by Mario Testino in which Serena was looking stunning in a bold red Versace dress by holding Alexis close to her chest. The sports star who has been married to Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian, has revealed that after giving birth to her child, she felt shortage of breath and has told the medical staff that she was concerned that she had developed blood clots. Serena has teased the idea of being a housewife by saying, “To be honest, there’s something really attractive about the idea of moving to San Francisco and just being a mom.” But, Serena is not going to step away from the tennis court that easily and has said that maybe this goes without saying, but it needs to be said in a powerful way that she absolutely wants more Grand Slams as well as she is well aware of the record books, unfortunately and it’s not a secret that she has her sights on 25.
